Description

Indian Mountain Lookout has been staffed every season since the first tower was constructed in 1933. The current 40’ wooden tower (the second on the site) was built in 1953 and supports a 14’ x 14’ L-4 live-in cab with catwalk. When the Kaniksu National Forest had over a dozen active lookouts, Indian Mountain was ranked first for initial detection reports. Administered by the Priest Lake Ranger District, the lookout is located just west of the state line in Washington.
