Description

The Kresek Fire Tower located east of Spokane is a 50' Aermotor tower with a 7' x 7' metal cab. It was originally erected on Spades Mountain on the Coeur d'Alene National Forest in 1941. In 1964 the tower was given to the Idaho Dept. of Lands and moved to Long Mountain near Sand Point. Declared surplus, it was moved again to its present location on 30 acres by Dave Kresek (Ray's son). It can be visited with prior appointment through the Fire Lookout Museum.
