Comments: | Removable metal shutters not installed except in winter. The lookout was remodeled in 1989, with knotty pine interior, new floor covering, thermopane windows, walls and ceiling insulated. Roof, exterior walls, deck and stairs in good shape. Gas stove/oven, refrigerator and heater. First floor houses radio repeater. Solar panel provides power to maintain batteries for radio and repeater. |

Staffing gets partial funding from City of Walla Walla, WA. This lookout protects the Mill Creek Watershed to the west, which is the primary water source for Walla Walla. The Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness Area is to the east.
