This 84-foot Wisconsin standard tower features stairs rather than the much more common cage-protected external ladder typically found on this type of tower. Also unique is that all landings and stair treads are solid 1/4” thick galvanized plate steel instead of wood or metal grating commonly found on stair type towers. Identical to the tower frame members, the underside of the landings and stairs are labeled “84’ For Woodruff No. 1” indicating they are clearly original to the tower. It was built in 1932.
