Baseline Lookout is a 10’ x 10’ hip-roof wooden groundhouse on a concrete foundation that was one of at least three surveyed in the late 1920s and built by the federal Canadian Forest Service. It was staffed by provincial personnel until the late 1940s when it was abandoned following the completion of a new 80’ tower and cabin about a half mile to the west. The successor remains an active Alberta Land & Forest Service lookout.
