Description
The first Hopi Lookout on this site in the Grand Canyon National Park was a tree-top crow's nest in 1909 which was replaced in 1927 with a 40' steel tower with 10'x10' cab. The lookout was remodeled in 1953 with this 12'x12' cab and the tower lowered to 24'. The site overlooks the Grand Canyon to the north. The lookout is no longer used for fire detection.
