Description
Sitting on a high point above the Kings River Canyon on the south end of Sierra National Forest, Fence Meadow is one of two lookouts remaining on the Kings River Ranger District and remains in active service. Constructed in 1934, the 14' x 14' L-4 cab with catwalk is mounted atop a 20' H-braced steel tower. One of only 20 L-4 cabs remaining in California, it has the newer style solid pane windows.
