This lookout was a one-of-a-kind log structure designed and built by the Payette National Forest in 1937. The 15’x15’ cabin, with dovetailed corners, was built entirely with hand tools with logs collected on site. Inactive since 1945, the windows were removed in the 1960s and the historic lookout abandoned to the elements.

The lookout burned during the summer of 2015.
