Overlooking the Cradle of Forestry in America on the Pisgah National Forest, Fryingpan Mountain Lookout was established in 1941. At 70’, the steel tower with a 12’x12’ metal live-in cab is the tallest lookout west of Asheville. Now used as a radio relay point, it is easily accessible from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
