The most historically complete restoration in western North Carolina, Little Snowball Lookout has been reconstructed at the Big Ivy Historical Society Center near Bernardsville. Constructed in 1934, the 14’x14’ wooden live-in cab with Catwalk on a 21’ steel tower overlooked a fire-prone section of the Great Craggy Mountains within the Pisgah National Forest. Reached only by trail, it was dismantled and hand carried out by volunteers in the 1980s.
