Description
Located on the Wilderness Ranger District, this 30 feet high Aermotor MI-25 steel tower has a wooden 14'x14' cab. The lookout was constructed in 1948 on the same location which has been utilized for fire detection since at least 1913 when fires were located with a protractor on top of a stump. Adjacent to the lookout is the Observer's Log Cabin constructed in 1923.
