Description
The first lookout was an Alidade in the teens. In 1918 the Lookout was Bertha Covert, one of many women that staffed lookouts during the manpower shortage of WW I. In 1926 a D-6 cupola lookout house was built. In 1947 a L-4 cabin was constructed at a cost of $2700.00. In 1997 an attractive new two-story 15'x15' lookout house was built for a mere $82,213.92. The cab is devoted to detection activities with living quarters on the first floor. It is in active service.
