Description
Located on a small hill north of Bend and surrounded by expensive homes, Henkle Butte Lookout may seem out of place, but is an active and effective fire detection point. Owned by the Oregon Dept. of Forestry, the first lookout was a ODF live in cab on a 40' tower. It was replaced with this 3 story ODF flattop cab in 1961.
