Description
This is the third Lookout Mountain Lookout to be listed on the NHLR, joining others in Idaho and Washington. Located on the Umatilla National Forest it first went into service in 1935 with a 60' wooden observation tower. The present L-4 with catwalk on an 87' timber tower was constructed in 1948. The cab was removed in 2004, restored on the site, and remounted by a crane.

| Comments: | It has all been redone as stated in you information. I was a bit disappointed in that the Umatilla NF does not allow people up to the top. |
