Every now and then a classic lookout structure appears in the nominations for listing in the National Historic Lookout Register, and Warner Mountain Lookout on the Willamette National Forest is one of them. Although of recent construction (1987), the 41' tower is historically unique in the U.S. The 14'x14' live-in cab is a replica of the cupola design of the 1920s. Most of the cupola buildings were on the ground and a few were on short crib structures. This is the only one know to have been placed on top of a 41' tower.
