Description
Unusual in that it is only two miles south of Halls Point Lookout (US#491, OR#94) and both are in active service, White Point Lookout sees a wide area to the south. In 1951 it was an L-4 on a 40’ tower. In 1974, the Oregon Dept. of Forestry built the current 14’x14’ ODF flattop live-in cab with caltwalk on a 30’ treated timber tower.

I manned this tower summer 2016, the last year it was in active service. As of summer 2017, cameras have been installed on the tower. It is no longer staffed.
