Kettlefoot Lookout Tower is planned to become part of a new multiple-use recreation area being developed by the State of Tennessee. The tower is named for a large bear that caught his foot in a kettle.

Comments: | The tower was recently restored in 2019, it is the best shape I have ever seen a tower in, aside from the missing windows, which I assume weren't reinstalled due to concerns of vandalism. |

Comments? | Typically, this tower can be accessed via the ATV trails that are maintained by the Doe Mountain Recreation Area. The day I went, all of the ATVs and Motorbikes were rented out, so I chose to hike 4.5 miles up to the tower, from the North Entrance of the park. Maps are available on the Doe Mountain Recreation Area's website. |
