Description

Salmo Mountain in the Colville National Forest is in the northeastern corner of Washington (three miles west of the Idaho line and two miles south of the Canadian border). It has been the site of four lookouts -- a pole tower with platform, a log cabin, a 30’ L-4 live-in, and the present 15’x 15’ R-6 flattop with catwalk on 10’ wooden tower built in 1964. The lookout was last staffed in 1976.
