Description

Suntop Lookout is located 15 miles northeast of Mt. Rainier, Washington within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Built in 1932, it is one of only two L-4 ground house structures remaining on the old Snoqualmie National Forest. It was used as an Aircraft Warning site in World War II and the road to it was not completed until 1956. Located in a high alpine meadow with excellent view of Winthrop Glacier, the lookout is a popular tourist destination and is staffed by volunteers.
